This is the U Design Fabricators metal fabrication blog: a growing set of guides on how metal panels are specified, fabricated, and ordered. No fluff and no sales pitch. Each one is written from the shop floor for the people who actually buy and install the metal, with the gauges, profiles, and finishes named the way they show up on a drawing.
The point is to answer the questions that slow a job down before they slow yours down. What seam type fits a low slope. Which gauge is worth the extra cost. How to put together a request so the quote comes back tight the first time. The guides below cover the panel lines we run every day, and each one ends where the work does, with a clear way to get a quote.
The blog is still growing. We add a guide when a question comes up enough on the phone that it is worth writing down, so the topics track what contractors and builders are actually asking the shop this season.
